NJASECD Webinar: June 2, 2022

NJASECD sponsored a webinar called “Reducing Stress, Dealing with Differences, Building Community? Character is the Answer!” This webinar featured a keynote conversation with Dr. Nathan Fisher, Dr. Phil Brown, and Dr. Maurice Elias talking about the history of character education, social-emotional learning, and school culture and climate and the importance of these fields in today’s schools. This conversation was followed by breakout sessions built on relevant topics including Civic Character, Building Community and Relationships, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), Growth Mindset and Goal-Setting, Stress and Mindfulness. and Student Engagement Through Service Learning. Materials from this webinar are available through a “Bitmoji Room” that includes video presentations on each topic area as well as resources for each topic..
